I cannot recommend Dr. Cem Altindag enough! My experience from start to finish was 10/10! The coordinator Mohammed was so kind the entire time. We had actually rescheduled a operation due to conflicting work scheduled without any hassle. They were very flexible with me. I also wanted to arrive one day earlier than planned and Mohammed booked the room for me one extra night (for free). I was impressed by the dedication to have everything organised so smoothly from beginning to end. The transportation was on point, the hotel was clean and spacious and the staff was very helpful. They would bring me ice whenever I needed or help me order food. I had a pre-appointment the day before my surgery (which I requested) so I could take one hour to discuss with Cem Altindag himself at his clinic (which by the way, is very modern). We came to an agreement very fast over what I wanted and I was confident in his ability to do a good job that would suit my nose. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced surgeon with thousands of operation so he will know what nose is best for you. Of course, you have to express your desires but I believe that you should trust the opinion of a professional who's been in the field for 30+ years more than your own. Choosing him as my surgeon was the best decision. One of his core principle is to aim for a natural result where no one would know you got surgery. We got the time to discuss how the surgery would proceed, how the recovery would be and I felt that he was very patient and understanding with me. There were no blind spots. Eventually I had my operation the day after and everything went really well. The nurses, the anesthesist and Dr Altindag all came to see me and asked me thorough questions to ensure the surgery would be safe. I signed all the documents as per the kind assistant Mohammed requested and had the time to read them and then I quickly went for surgery. I didn't feel any pain, I had a room just for myself and in the afternoon following the surgery I was discharged to the hotel where I could rest. The recovery will not be painful, just uncomfortable so it's your responsibility to bring items to make your stay as comfortable as possible (you can find many comments on reddit channels or even the coordinator). The result was much much better than I expected. Although my nose is still swollen (post op 14 days), I have had an extremely easy recovery and from how it looks right now I already like it. From the first cast removal I liked how my nose looked and it gets better day by day. One recommendation I would give you is to also book a few extra days in Istanbul on your own (there are many other hotels close to the ones where you will be) that will allow you to visit Istanbul. My recovery was fast so that I could explore Istanbul without any hassle from the 4th day onwards - ask the coordinators just in case though. It will also allow you to get your cast removed at day 7 (which personally was something I preferred). I have complete trust in Cem Altindag. He is a genuinely kind man who really cares about the health and the looks of his patients long-term. Many thanks again for having me as a patient. I know how stressful it is to trust a surgeon but you can trust that this surgeon will be able to listen and provide you with the best care possible. PS: I will update this post when I have before/after photos in a few months that are more reliable.

My revision rhinoplasty was a very complex procedure 2 years on from my primary rhinoplasty that was done in the UK. Dr Cem said that it was one of the most complex revision cases that he has dealt with. He is an incredibly nice doctor to deal with, he took a lot of time to explain everything to me and to manage my expectations. I am only 3 weeks post op and the swelling is going to take time to settle but I am very happy with the result. I can definitely recommend Dr Cem for his expertise and kind and caring manner.

Honest Review of My Rhinoplasty Experience with Cem Altindag I’m sharing this review to help future patients make an informed decision. Initially, everything looked professional. I booked the surgery through Bookimed, the ratings were high, and communication via Telegram (Bookimed) and WhatsApp (clinic) was smooth. However, once I arrived in Turkey, serious concerns started. On the morning of surgery, I was taken to a hospital that had never been clearly disclosed beforehand. I had no prior information about this clinic from either Bookimed or the clinic itself, which was stressful on the surgery day. I met the doctor for the first time just minutes before surgery. He briefly examined my nose and said, “Don’t expect an ideal result.” This was alarming, especially since I had previously been shown a 3D simulation of the expected outcome. I wasn’t expecting perfection, but I expected something close to what was presented. The surgery process felt unsettling. I was taken to a very cold underground floor with many people around (likely interns), and I did not see the surgeon again until I was already being sedated, which caused serious anxiety. Waking up from anesthesia was the worst sedation experience I’ve had: intense shaking, trembling, and feeling extremely cold for about 40 minutes, with no proper post-op comfort. The swelling afterward was extreme—far worse than what I observed in other rhinoplasty patients staying at the same hotel. My face was heavily bruised and swollen. After the casts were removed, the result was far from the 3D model. Eventually, my nose looked almost identical to how it looked before surgery. The doctor repeatedly insisted it was “just swelling” and would go away. It didn’t. Nearly a year later, a CT scan showed misaligned nasal bones and bone overgrowth, confirming this was a structural issue, not swelling. Main issues: The hospital was not clearly disclosed beforehand Minimal pre-op communication; doctor appeared only minutes before surgery Abnormally severe swelling Final result: no visible improvement, and even a new hump appeared The doctor never acknowledged responsibility and gave false reassurance About a year later, I was offered a revision surgery for $700 (clinic fees only). As of January 2026, over a year after surgery, my nose looks essentially the same as before (if not worse). My surgery was performed by Dr. Cem Altindag. Based on my experience and outcome, the quality was objectively poor. I’m sharing this to help others avoid the same disappointment.
